With reference to the language competence, the International
Language School is the official representative in Italy for
TELC (The European Language Certificates) issued by WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme
GmbH). The WBT, based in Frankfurt and member of ALTE (Association
of Language Testers in Europe), has been working in the certification
area all over Europe and for more than thirty years. The certification
system, set up by the WBT according to the Council of Europe
framework, is standard for ten European languages, which are
available at the moment (English, Italian, Spanish, French,
German, Portogues, Russian, Nederlands, Czech, Turkish).
All TELC Examinations refer to the Common European Framework
and value not only the global score, but also each language
ability (speaking, listening, writing and communicative skills).
In Italy such certificates are included in the Protocollo
d’Intesa for "Lingue 2000" project, signed
with MIUR (Ministry of Education), as well as in the Protocollo
d’Intesa for the "Campus One" project, signed
with CRUI (Association of Deans and Masters in Italy) and
the more recent Protocollo d’Intesa signed with the
MIUR- Ufficio Scolastico Regionale Lazio for the certification
of language competences of the teachers at the primary school.
